RBIS Rasami British International School has grown gradually since 1971. Originally a private preschool for boys and girls with a reputation of being a happy school offering a high standard of education but always in the context of unrivalled pastoral care. We have developed into what we are today: a school for students aged range from 18 months to 18 years and a school of choice for parents who would like to enrich their children’s learning experience.

The school name was changed to Rasami International School in 1994 and since 2012, we have been known as RBIS Rasami British International School. The name is to give all students, parents and community a more accurate perception of what we offer; as an International School underpinned by the very best of the British Curriculum. A lot of progress and developments have taken place over the years but in many ways, little has been changed at the heart of RBIS from those essential values established in the earlier years. Moral values, respect and courtesy are vitally important qualities that all our students should aspire to possessing. By the time our students leave RBIS, we want them to know that they can be of value to society and help to make the world a better place.

We are known as a dynamic and forward-thinking school where each student is recognised as an individual who is encouraged to succeed in a warm and caring atmosphere. This is a school where your child will be known as a name rather than a number. Students are expected to ‘Aim Even Higher’ and are encouraged to have high expectations and aspirations. This can be achieved with smaller class sizes where students can get full attention and support from highly qualified and dedicated teachers.

We aim to offer an inspiring education for our students and ensure that students can enjoy an exceptional start to life.

Accreditation
Teaching and learning are the essence of what we do and we aim to ensure that our students receive high quality of education. We are accredited by CfBT Education Trust, UK and also from Office for National Education Standards and Quality Assessment (ONESQA), Thailand.

Who is CfBT?

CfBT Education Trust is a top 30 UK charity providing education services for public benefit in the UK and internationally.

CfBT is accredited by the Department for Education (DfE) to provide Ofsted-assured inspections to British Schools operating overseas.

This is designed to inform parents of students in schools delivering British curricula around the world how standards in these schools compare to those measures by Ofsted in UK independent schools. It allows schools delivering British Curricula internationally to demonstrate that they provide a standard of education characteristic of the British independent sector – providing a widely – recognized quality mark.
What is A CfBTInspection

Accredition with CfBT shows that our school demonstrates high standards of student achievement with an effective curriculum, good use of resources, a successful leadership team and strong partnerships with parents and the community that ensure your children are well cared for and receive an enriched education. It signifies our commitment to the highest standards.

The purpose of accreditation is to assure parents and students that we have been judged by independent evaluators to meet rigorous high quality standards.

Welcome to the RBIS Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

On behalf of the EYFS team, it is my great pleasure to welcome all of you to the Early Years Foundation Stage of Rasami British International School.

We, the teachers and staff of Early Years strive to guide your children as they take their first steps in a lifelong journey of education. At such a very tender age, we understand how challenging it must be for them to experience independence. Here, we will hold their little hands as they face the big world out there. It is our mission to provide a fertile ground where your children can grow and flourish into vibrant, confident and happy young individuals. We will provide them with the opportunity to express their inherent talents and nurture them so they can reach their full potential.

We use the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework (DfE, UK) in achieving our goals for each child’s learning and developing requirements. The teachers have designed activities and lessons in all seven areas of learning which will help tap into your child’s learning capacity. At the end of the academic year, it will be our pride to present to you children who are attuned to using English in expressing their feelings and creative ideas.

We are honoured that you have entrusted us in partnering with you in moulding your children’s future.
I invite you to search in our website more information about RBIS Early Years Phase. I will also be delighted to arrange an appointment for you to visit our school and speak with me about your child.

Welcome to RBIS Primary

On behalf of the Primary staff and students, a very warm welcome to our Primary School. We take pride in our vibrant campus and the sounds of learning and laughter that echo through the building reinforces our philosophy that education should be an enjoyable experience.

At RBIS we set high standards for our students and have created a stimulating learning environment that encourages students to question, explore, discover and grow so that they may realise their full potential. Our dedicated and professional teaching staff work hard to provide engaging and child-centred lessons in a 21st Century classroom. We encourage our students to be independent thinkers and to take responsibility for their lifelong learning process so that they may grow into mature global citizens, equipped to tackle any challenges that they may encounter in the future.  The small class sizes allow teachers to work closely with each student to assess their strengths and weaknesses so that lessons can be created to accommodate the needs of all students.

We are excited to be introducing the new British National Curriculum 2014 into the Primary School as of August 2014. This is adapted to reflect the history, culture and society of Thailand so that students are able to apply their learning to their context and environment. Our highly qualified and experienced staff members come from a wide variety of teaching backgrounds and experiences, each contributing to the implementation of the curriculum in their unique and creative way.

RBIS is committed to providing a learning environment that promotes not only intellectual development, but places a great deal of importance on emotional and social development as well. Students are nurtured to develop a healthy self-respect and an awareness of their unique importance in the school and global community. We encourage our students to develop a sense of tolerance and appreciation for others from different religious, racial or cultural backgrounds to ensure a close-knit and harmonious campus.
Further information about what we offer at RBIS can be found on the website. You are also welcome to contact the school to schedule a visit to our charming campus, where you can see for yourself just why our happy and confident students find such pleasure in coming to school everyday.

Welcome to Secondary

I have been Head of Secondary for the past 12 years and continue to enjoy all aspects of working with such wonderful students. Our academic successes continue to flourish, with very good A* – C grades at IGCSE, and our students’ participation in events and activities is enthusiastic and rewarding.

RBIS ensures that all children are set realistic, yet aspirational educational challenges and are given opportunities to maximise their potential as well as ensuring they develop confidence, responsibility and ability in personal and social skills. Our teachers are well qualified, professional and caring striving to ensure that each child fulfils their potential.

Information about RBIS Secondary School is to be found on this website and I hope you find answers to all the questions you may have concerning your child’s education. If you have any further questions about what RBIS offers your child, as they develop academically and socially, please do let me know.

 Admissions

Welcome to RBIS Rasami British International School. We hope that you find our information about joining the School useful and easy to understand. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us by calling + 66 26445291-2 ext 101 or by emailing admissions@rbis.ac.th. Our Admissions Officer can guide you through the application process, answer any questions you may have and arrange for you to visit the School.

RBIS Rasami British International School is committed to accepting students that can benefit from being educated at our school. We are particularly interested in recruiting children of good character, with an inquisitive nature who can make a positive contribution to the school’s community.

The school’s admissions policy does not discriminate on the grounds of race, religion, gender or nationality.
Upon contacting the school an appointment will be arranged with the Admissions Officer. The Admissions Officer will take prospective parents and students on a school tour and will answer any questions. A subsequent meeting and interview will then be arranged with the Head of Phase and/or the Headmaster.
Although new students are expected to begin their studies in August it is not unusual for children to join the school mid-year. The academic curriculum to be studied will be agreed at interview with the Head of Phase and/or Headmaster and will, where necessary, be informed by the results of diagnostic placement tests in English and/or Mathematics. Secondary candidates will have Initial Assessments (IAs) in English and Mathematics. Primary candidates will have an IA in English. These assessments are purely diagnostic so as to allow educators to determine the academic standard, the degree and type of support required (if relevant) and provides a baseline from which we can then measure progress. New entrants in Key Stage 3 and 4 should also expect to meet with specialist subject teachers especially when they hope to enter examination classes.

The following documents will need to be provided by parents:

- A completed application form (available at the school); medical data (including allergies) is included in this form.

- A photocopy of the pupil’s passport and/or other official documents certifying nationality.

- A transcript/report, in English, of academic performance from the student’s previous school (as a minimum this should be for the previous 12 months).

- A letter of reference from the school previously attended which gives us more information on academic potential, sociability, participation in school activities, etc.

- A photocopy of a currently valid residence permit.

N.B. Parents of children in need of learning support should also submit the written results of diagnostic testing as well as the learning support information form. All non-native English speakers may be asked to sit a diagnostic English test. Younger pupils may be given an oral test instead.

An application for admission may be made prior to an appointment with the Head of Phase and/or Headmaster but the school cannot make a confirmed offer of a place until a prospective student has completed the interview process.
